Aloha, my name is Chris and I’m the founder and creative director of Huakaʻi Creative. I grew up here in Hawaiʻi and believe small businesses and nonprofits strengthen our community by fostering authentic connections and providing goods and services that better meet the needs of our island ʻohana. That’s why I’m here to help.
With 10 years of professional communication and design experience, I specialize in creating solutions to help your business or cause get established and stand out. I love to create—whether its building websites, designing unique logos, or crafting effective messaging. How much do your services cost?
Pricing can vary depending on the scope and size of your project but I base my estimates on a rate of $60/hour ($55/hour for nonprofits). Please contact me to discuss the details of your project and get a detailed estimate.

The timeline to deliver a project can vary widely depending on the scope of work, development time, and revision process. I will provide an estimated timeline to complete your project before beginning any work.
How do we get started?

Do you work with businesses outside of Hawaiʻi?
Yes! I love supporting local clients but I also work with businesses across the world.

I build websites using WordPress, Wix, Squarespace and other visual web building platforms.
Do you handle website hosting?
Yes! I can set up and manage your website using a reliable hosting service that includes a free domain name, SSL certificate, and scheduled backups.
Can you work with an existing logo and brand?
Absolutely. I can build on your existing brand or start fresh—whatever best fits your goals.
Can you create the content for my website?
Yes! In additional to web design and development, I have experience crafting SEO-friendly content to highlight your expertise and the value of your products and services.
Can I update my website myself once it's built?
Yes! I design user-friendly websites and will provide basic training so you can make changes and updates yourself.
What is your process for logo design?

- Concepts: I draft logo concepts based on your input, the design brief, and market research.
- Revision: Once we settle on a design, I refine and revise the logo to your liking.
- Production: I deliver the final logo in 5 file formats with various orientations and colors so you can use it for any scenario.
